Learning to knit!

Jen is a really great knitter, and she’s decided to show me what it’s all about. We first went to a yarn shop where I discovered that yarn is really, really comfy…

And I thought I wanted to sleep there forever, but then she showed me how soft cashmere yarn is. Oh my goodness! Heaven on earth!

After buying some new yarn (Jen cannot help but buy new yarn!) we went back home. I really don’t have the ability to knit myself (because of the lack of opposable thumbs, I think), so Jen knitted for me… and what a great job she did! A hat, a scarf, mittens and booties! I think this was her way of saying, “Hey, I like you, I don’t want you to become frozen broccoli.”

I’m still alive!
Loyal Broc fans, I am so sorry for my absence as of late. I’ve been traveling, but it’s been hectic and I haven’t had a chance to take more photos until recently! I was in Austin, Texas for a brief amount of time following my most wonderful stay in Seattle. However, it didn’t pan out to be the best time for the person who was letting me stay in his house, so I went from Austin to Kansas City, MO! Here I’m hanging out with Jennifer and her husband, and her three dogs! We’ve been having a great time so far, but tonight I was mortified when Jen put me in the freezer “as a joke” and I saw this —

THE HORROR!

Mass broccoli murder is NOT something that should be bagged and frozen; it should be mourned! Join me in the fight against broc torture and murder!

Here I am with the Space Needle, which is way cooler when you see it in person than when you see it in pictures. It was so awesome.

And here I am sitting on the Rachel the Pig a the Pike Place Market.

Thanks to Andrea and Nick for a wonderful time in Seattle. I’ve already moved on to my next destination, so keep an eye out for new pictures.

Here I am, hanging out with my friends in Seattle! Yup, I’m in Seattle and you know what that means — lots of photo ops! Here I am with my new Santa hat and scarf and snow boots!

I know, I’m stylin’, I’m sure that Louis Vuitton will be calling me to model for them soon! Thanks to Nick for my awesome new outfit! Lots of Seattle photos to come!
I’m here!

Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately! Traveling was CRAZY. Remind me never to take Fed-Ex over the holiday weekend, K?
So, anyway, I’m at my next stop and I’m having fun. I’m up north, and I recently got to play in the snow. I know it snowed back home but I didn’t usually go outside for it. Anyway, it was fun, and then I came in and warmed up. I’m going to be going on a few tours of the city, so I’ll have pictures from that soon!
(Oh, and what city is it? I’ll give you a hint: In this city, they like space and they like needles.)
Here’s a picture of me with a little doll who traveled here from Louisiana a couple of months ago:

She’s nice but not too talkative.
More pictures from Jacksonville.

I’m currently in the process of leaving Jacksonville to go to my next destination. I figured I’d be there by now but YOU KNOW how it is when you travel! Figuring out flights, finding a hotel room, getting my stuff all in one place, AND it was the holiday weekend - goodness! It’s enough to drive a broccoli mad! Anyway, I’ll of course let you know when I arrive in my next city safe and sound, but for now, here are some final pictures of me hanging out with Tree-sa at the ballpark in Jacksonville. She works there so I got a bunch of special behind-the-scenes tours!

Thanks for a wonderful trip in Jax, Tree-sa! I appreciate your hospitality!
I’m in Jacksonville!
Jacksonville, Florida, that is!
Yup, that’s right, folks! I hitched a ride with Tree-sa back from NYC to her hometown of Jax, FL. We’re having a ton of fun! She’s taken me to lunch more than once (we stopped at Atlanta Bread when we were in the Atlanta airport! Go figure!):

At her house she’s got these creatures called “cats.” They’re smaller than the dogs I’m familiar with, but they’re much nosier:

The coolest thing so far is Tree-sa let me tag along to a Jacksonville Jaguar game and we got to sit up in one of those VIP box sections. It was pretty awesome! And, don’t tell Tree-sa, but I was totally rooting for the Colts that game! Peyton Manning is awesome!

Keep an eye out for more frequent postings! Tree-sa is taking me all over and after I leave Jacksonville I have another adventure lined up! You’ll never guess where I’m going!

Here I am on the most fantastic adventure of my life!
I took the plane from Louisiana to NYC:

I took the subway to get the Staten Island Ferry:

Here I am on the Staten Island Ferry with the Statue of Liberty behind me! (my friend had to hold me up because I was too short to see it myself):

Here I am on the Top of the Rock building in Rockefeller Center, with the Empire State Building behind me:

I met one of the security guards at the Top of the Rock:

He was really nice and we became buds.

Then I went in the gift shop and found some cool stuff:

(The bear wasn’t too talkative.)

(Peek-a-boo!)
Before we left I had to use one of the viewfinders and get an amazing view of the city. It’s gorgeous!

I’m having a wonderful time, and I’m SO tired from all the walking! What a GREAT adventure! We go back to Louisiana tomorrow and while it’s been fun here, this city is way too crazy for me to live here!
Going out of town.
I leave on Tuesday for an amazing adventure! I’m still not telling where I’m going - it’s going to be a great surprise! Don’t worry, I’ll take LOTS of photos!
